Mental Health Awareness Week

two hands holding for comfort

Mental Health Awareness Week 2025 takes place from Monday 12th May to Sunday 18th May, and this year’s theme is “Movement: Moving More for Our Mental Health”.

At GLP Training, we’re proud to join the national conversation, raising awareness about mental wellbeing and encouraging positive habits, both in the workplace and beyond.

Why Mental Health Matters to Us

As a training provider, we don’t just support learners in gaining qualifications, we support them as people. Whether it’s apprentices starting their first job or professionals up-skilling for the future, mental health plays a crucial role in learning, performance, and overall quality of life.

We recognise that learning journeys can be demanding. Deadlines, balancing work and study, and managing new responsibilities can sometimes lead to stress, burnout, or self-doubt. That’s why mental health support is embedded into everything we do, because we understand that wellbeing underpins success.

Our Commitment in the Workplace

Mental health is equally important within our own team. At GLP Training, we:

  • Promote open conversations about mental health, reducing stigma and encouraging staff to speak up when they need support.

  • Offer flexible working arrangements and wellbeing check-ins to help balance work and personal life.

  • Provide access to training and resources on stress management, mindfulness, and resilience.

Creating a workplace culture where people feel safe, valued, and supported is not only the right thing to do, it empowers our team to do their best work.

What You Can Do This Week

Mental Health Awareness Week is a great opportunity to reflect and take action. Here are a few ways to get involved:

  • Move more: Whether it’s a lunchtime walk, yoga session, or even standing up during meetings, movement has a proven positive impact on mental wellbeing.

  • Check in: Ask your colleagues, friends, or learners how they’re really doing.

  • Share resources: Promote mental health charities and services (such as Mind,

Samaritans, or the Mental Health Foundation) on your social media channels.

  • Learn more: Take 10 minutes to explore articles, podcasts, or training that help deepen your understanding of mental health.

Let’s Keep the Conversation Going

Supporting mental health isn’t just a week-long event, it’s a year-round commitment.

At GLP Training, we believe that when people are supported mentally and emotionally, they thrive personally and professionally. Let’s keep moving forward, together.

If you or someone you know is struggling, there is help available. Speak to someone you trust or contact a professional support service.
