Join GLP Training for an immersive and hands-on 4-day intensive plastering course, perfect for beginners and those looking to enhance their DIY skills.

Held over two consecutive weekends, this course is designed to teach you the fundamentals of plastering in a practical and engaging way.

This course runs from 9 am-5 pm on Saturday and Sunday for two consecutive weekends. (5pm is the latest finish time, but may finish earlier if the days' training objectives are complete)

The course is hosted at the Building Block centre in Worcester, situated in the heart of the UK, ensuring easy access for all participants. The site includes kitchen facilities and free parking.

You will be provided with your own work area for plastering along with the tools and materials you will need. The only thing you will need to bring yourself is your own safety boots.

What will I learn?

Day 1: Foundations of Plastering

Morning Session: Introduction to plastering tools and materials. Understand the basics of preparing your work area, also known as 'setting up the bay'.

Afternoon Session: Hands-on experience in plaster boarding. Learn to accurately measure, cut, and fix plasterboard to ceilings and walls. Focus on techniques for applying the base coat for plastering, with step-by-step guidance from our expert instructors.

Day 2: Perfecting Ceiling and Wall Plastering

Morning Session: Techniques for a smooth plaster finish on ceilings. Emphasis on achieving the right consistency and application of plaster.

Afternoon Session: Transition to wall plastering. Learn the differences in technique between ceiling and wall plastering, ensuring a flawless finish.

Day 3: Advanced Plastering Techniques and Revisiting Skills

Morning Session: Explore advanced plastering techniques including skimming, feathering, and floating. Practice achieving different textures and finishes.

Afternoon Session: Re-plastering ceilings and walls. This session allows for practice and improvement, with personalised feedback to hone your skills.

Day 4: Comprehensive Plastering Skills

Morning Session: Learn the dot and dab method for fixing plasterboard – a crucial skill for repair work and renovations.

Afternoon Session: Finalise your projects with a focus on patch repair and finishing touches. The course concludes with a teardown session, equipping you with knowledge about clean-up and site restoration, preparing you for real-world scenarios.

This course runs from 9am - 5pm on Saturday and Sunday for two consecutive weekends and is hosted at The Building Block training centre in Worcester.
