What is Safeguarding?

Safeguarding is a fundamental part of any organisation, and at GLP Training, it is central to everything we do. We are committed to promoting a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all our staff and learners.

Everyone has a responsibility to recognise, respond to, record, and report any concerns.

Safeguarding means taking proactive steps to protect individuals from abuse, harm, neglect or exploitation. It ensures that everyone, regardless of their background or circumstances, can work and learn in a safe environment.

What is Prevent?

Prevent is part of the UK government’s counter-terrorism strategy. It aims to stop people from being drawn into radicalisation or extremist behaviour, helping to keep individuals and communities safe.

At GLP Training, we are committed not only to safeguarding our staff and learners but also to supporting their well-being and personal development in a safe and inclusive environment. The Prevent strategy is an essential part of this commitment.

At GLP Training, we are committed not only to safeguarding our staff and learners but also to supporting their well-being and personal development in a safe and inclusive environment. The Prevent strategy is an essential part of this commitment.

By integrating Prevent into our policies and training, we:

  • Raise awareness: Ensure staff and learners understand the risks of radicalisation and extremism.
  • Recognise early signs: Equip our team to spot behaviours or situations that may indicate someone is vulnerable to extremist influence.
  • Provide support: Offer timely guidance and support to anyone at risk, helping them access the right help and resources.
  • Maintain a safe learning environment: Protect the wider learning community by fostering an environment where everyone feels secure and valued.

Why Reporting Safeguarding Concerns Matters

Reporting concerns is crucial because it:

  • Protects individuals who may be at risk.
  • Fulfils our duty of care to staff and learners.
  • Provides early support and timely help to those who need it.
  • Ensures we comply with legal and organisational safeguarding standards.
  • Builds a culture of safety and trust, where everyone feels protected, supported, and valued.
