To achieve the qualification, apprentices will undergo ongoing assessment throughout the apprenticeship, culminating in a final evaluation. The outcome of the assessment will determine the final result, which will be graded as Pass, Distinction, or Fail.
Before progressing to the Apprenticeship Assessment, apprentices must meet the following gateway criteria:
Completion of all on-programme learning requirements
Achievement of Functional Skills qualifications in English and maths (if applicable)
Submission of a 500-word project proposal outlining the scope and objectives of the final project
Submission of a portfolio of evidence to support the professional discussion
The Facilities Management Supervisor Apprenticeship Assessment is delivered by Active IQ. The assessment process begins once the employer confirms that the apprentice is consistently performing at or above the standard outlined in the occupational standard and is ready for final assessment.
The assessment typically takes around 3 months to complete and consists of the following components:

This is followed by a presentation and a question-and-answer session with an assessor.
Professional Discussion Underpinned by a Portfolio of Evidence
A structured two-way conversation between the apprentice and the assessor.
The discussion is based on the apprentice’s submitted portfolio and is designed to demonstrate their knowledge, skills, and behaviours (KSBs).
The results from both assessment methods are combined to determine the final grade for the apprenticeship.
