Job title: Service Delivery/Operations Manager

Salary Band: £35,000pa +

Responsible to: CEO

Location: National

Effective date: Q1 2021

We are looking for a full time, permanent Operations Manager. This is a home-based role and you will need to be a driver with your own transport, as there will be a need to travel. Due to working with large levy clients, this travel can be national including visits to GLP Training head office in Worcester.

Role:

  • Oversee the day to day training operation, working closely with the CEO and other senior stakeholders to ensure a smooth running of the business; upholding achievement rates and monitoring customer satisfaction

  • Managing the delivery team – mentoring, development, appraisals, 1-2-1’s and regular ad-hoc meetings. As well as motivating them to ensure they continue to deliver exemplary service

  • Engage with employers to support Apprenticeship Programme learners throughout their training by actively seeking feedback, uncovering roadblocks and working with the wider business to ensure seamless delivery

  • Keeping up to date with the latest rulings from bodies such as the ESFA, Ofsted; and working with the quality & compliance departments to prepare for audits, inspections and visits.

  • Ensure that all staff are adequately equipped to fulfil their roles to the best of their abilities. This includes hardware, software, knowledge and CPD.

  • Provide accurate feedback on learner recruitment numbers, retention and progress data to the senior leadership team

  • Identify and recruit appropriate employers and organisations ensuring they meet the required standards for training, safety and equality.

  • Undertake duties for colleagues as and when appropriate.

  • Challenge all practices and procedures within own role and throughout the organisation, to contribute to and ensure continuous improvement and quality.

  • Participate in any colleague review/performance management processes involving the identifying and meeting training needs for self and others

  • Take appropriate responsibilities to ensure the health and safety of self and others

  • Pursue the integration of equal opportunities throughout all activities

Requirements:

  • Prior experience as either an Operations, Programme or Delivery Manager

  • Prior experience as a Trainer, Tutor or IQA

  • Experience working for an Independent Training Provider

  • Driving licence with own transport.

  • Organisation, individual initiative, flexibility and time management.

  • Competent using Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, Outlook and e-portfolio systems.

Job title: Safety, Health, Environmental Trainer

Salary Band: £30,000pa - £35,000pa

Role:

  • Taking full responsibility for a cohort of candidates on safety, health, environmental technician (SHET) Apprentice programme, you will be instrumental in ensuring they are ready for careers in the industry.

  • Working closely with candidates, you will deliver training, monitor and review their progress, set targets and undertake assessments in the workplace. You will monitor the achievement of the 20% off the job training requirement and support learners and employers to achieve this.

  • You will make sure they are aware of routes for progression and further development. Developing relationships with both existing and new employers, you will actively secure training opportunities and support the growth of apprenticeships.

  • Naturally, you will develop employers' assessment capabilities, and make sure they are aware of their health, safety and equal opportunities obligations, as well as taking care to ensure work aspects of the apprenticeship complement each other effectively.

  • You will also contribute to resource development with colleagues.

  • Engage with employers to support Apprenticeship learners throughout their training by reviewing and assessing their progress and ensuring they attend appropriate off the job training.

  • Raise the achievement of all learners, reinforcing the company’s high expectations of learners regardless of their level and results. To ensure that they have stretching targets which maintain their motivation, are focused on the challenges ahead and to encourage life-long learning.

  • To always follow the most recent best practice guide for your role.

  • Quality formative and summative assessments for learning to be provided to all learners throughout their journey. It is essential that you give effective, timely feedback after assessment.

  • Ensure that targeted learner communication including reviews and enrolment engagement meetings are met within the performance indicators set.

  • Utilise technology efficiently including use of our Smart Assessor e-Portfolio and Learning Hub effectively throughout the learner’s journey.

  • Challenge all practices and procedures within own role and throughout the organisation, to contribute to and ensure continuous improvement and quality.

Standard Responsibilities for all positions in GLP Training:

  • A qualified Assessor (D32, D33, TAQA, CAVA).

  • Industry-related qualifications to degree level or equivalent experience.

  • An occupational background within the relevant sector, demonstrable knowledge and experience of apprenticeship standards and assessment criteria and procedures.

  • Driving licence with own transport.

  • Organisation, individual initiative, flexibility and time management.

  • Competent using Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, Outlook
